>Covering Climate Camp Movie Hits Current TV

The 18-minute documentary Covering Climate Camp has arrived on Current TV in two parts.

Covering Climate Camp Part One

The film follows a group of freelance journalists trying to cover the 2008 Climate Camp in Kent. Despite efforts not to allow the policing to become the story, the press tried to concentrate on the issues behind the environmental protest camp, but this was hampered at every hurdle.

Journalists, both freelance and staffers, were subject to stop-and-searches under the suspicion they were bringing in weapons for the protestors. This and other documented incidents led the NUJ and the media industry press to publically condemn the police interference in UK press freedom.

Music in the film comes courtesy of New Model Army and Shelf Life.
