Video Rush: UAF Protest BBC Over BNP Leader on Question Time
Thursday 22 October 2009: Unite Against Fascism (UAF) protested the BBC studios in White City in response to Far Right leader Nick Griffin being invited on Question Time.
Protestors made several attempts to breach the studio security, leading to many arrests and batons and pepper spray being used by police and riot officers.
Following Griffin’s appearance on Question Time the BNP headquarters claimed “no fewer than 3,000” new people registered to be signed up as members, a rise in BNP support of 30 percent, the largest block of expressions of interest ever. The figures of support have no been verified.
