“Teach The Truth” is sprayed in red chalk paint on the Department for Education (DfE) as teachers joined school children during the second #YouthStrike4Climate protest to demand climate change studies be put on the national curriculum, London, UK. 22/02/2019.
Secondary school teacher Tim Jones said climate change was not a “radical conspiracy”, the global world of scientists were trying to warn the world and schools should be teaching the children about the future they are facing.
National Education Union (NEU) representative Alex Kelly said teachers needed to free from “straight jacket of the curriculum” and the “exam factory culture” that existed in schools. He added the NEU is committed to teachers being able to work with young people, to look at what is happening in the world and look at how it could be different.
