Tuesday 10 April 2012: Police arrested six people during an eviction on Leyton Marsh where a basketball practice facility is being built for the London 2012 Games.

The video below shows bailiffs threatening one legal observer not involved in any action with a high court writ, stating he needs permission to be on public land. They then go on to accuse him of obstruction by holding on to a fence. In the run up to the 2012 London Olympics private security are being given more powers, including increased use of force.

  1. This is really getting scary. I thought things were going to get better under the Coalition’s puported pro Civil Liberties stance.

    Please can you help/advise me. I have decided to hold a Civil Liberties-focused event in my area. The people round here (Queens Park NW6) would relate to PHNAT issues – There are a lot of creative and media types around here.

    I am looking for someone who would like to talk about this to my group. Do you think you could help me out here. I really don’t know anyone.

    The PHNAT site doesn’t seem to respond to my emails so I am just asking around.
